Reminder!  School will be closed for staff training on Friday 27 October (followed by half term).

The Sponsored Walk went very well – and what a glorious morning for it!  Please help your children to collect all their sponsorship money and return this to school before Friday 20 October.

Do come and join us for our Harvest Celebration on Monday 9 October at 9am.  The Cathedral Archer Project (for the homeless in Sheffield) has appealed for donations at harvest time and so once again we will be taking our gifts and donations to them.  Please give generously.

If you wish to wear something bright (instead of uniform) you can do so – BUT – a £1 forfeit must be paid to CAFOD!

Proud To Be Me.  Cancelled this week due to Sponsored Walk

Best Attendance 25 to 29 September: Year 2 with 100%.

Birthdays This Week.  Oscar Jasinski and Daisy Pickstone.

School Games Mark.

We are delighted to tell you that we have been awarded a Silver Award for KS1 and a Bronze Award for KS2.  The School Games Mark is a Government-led scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across the school and community.  Participating in this process allows schools to develop their PE provision and assists them in developing an action plan for future progress.

Reminders

  • Harvest at the Christian Centre on Cedar Rd, Sunday 8 October at 10.30am.  The Saints Alive Puppet Theatre is doing a programme based on giving to the world – a fun filled morning for children of all ages!  Refreshments will be served.

This Girl Can Sheffield …..

This Girl Can Sport England is hosting a weekender from 6 to 8 October to encourage girls and women to be more active and give things a go.  Visit www.movemoresheffield.com/thisgirlcan for loads of information and encouragement to give it a go.

Please note the following changes:  Liturgy for Years 5 and 6 will now be held on Thursday

26 October, swapping with Year 2, whose Liturgy will now take place on 16 November.

Children are already misplacing their uniforms.  To avoid costly replacements, label every item permanently (felt pen lasts only as long as the first wash).  You can buy printed or embroidered name tapes on ebay for as little as £5 for 72 labels (which should take you through to Year 6!).
