Enjoy Spring Bank Week – after today’s rain, the lovely weather is set to continue

(we hope)!  School will re-open on Monday 4 June.

Years 5 and 6 will return today after a fabulous residential activity visit.  They can be collected at 2pm, along with their siblings.

  1. Reception and Year One looked SO scary in their bug outfits today – they frightened the life out of us!

Attendance and Punctuality.

Despite our best efforts, we have not yet solved the problem of children arriving late each day.  School opens at 8.35am and children must be in class for the register by 8.50am.  Children receive

a late mark after this time and up to 9am.  After 9am, they receive a ‘U’ mark which makes them absent for a half day.  However, this has done nothing to prevent around a dozen children each day arriving late at the school office.  A child walking in to school late disrupts the whole class and this is happening in every class, every day, multiple times. Please support us in our efforts to give your children the education they deserve by ensuring they arrive punctually every day.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

A new data privacy law is being introduced into the UK on Friday 25 May.  As a result, we are publishing several Privacy Notices.  These will make it easy for you to find out how we use and protect your information in school.  The new notices (which are now on our website) will provide you with additional details:

  • Your increased rights with relation to the information we hold about you
  • How we keep your personal information secure
  • The types of personal information we collect about you and how we use it
  • The legal grounds for how we use your information

No Proud To Be Me.     Birthdays at Spring Bank:  James.

Reminders!

  • Y5 and Y6 Cricket on 8 June – return your slips urgently!
  • No Uniform day on Friday 8 June.  As a forfeit, we are asking children to please bring an item for the stalls at the Sumer gala (see below) – a good quality used toy, tombola prize, toiletries etc.
  • St Ann’s Summer Gala on Saturday 16 June, 12 noon to 4pm.  Come along for a superb day out: fairground rides, fish and chips, Deepcar Brass Band, ice cream van, face painting, wine bar and lots more!  Volunteers always needed if you can spare some time.

Dates to Remember.

  • Exhibition by local artists on Saturday 2 June, 10am to 3pm, at Christ Church Hall, Manchester Rd, Stocksbridge.   Admission £1 – children free.  Do come along – you may even wish to buy a painting!
