Catholic Life of the School
Children follow the 'Magister Resources' scheme of work on a two year cycle. 'Magister Resources' are aligned to the Religious Education model curriculum and covers all outcomes, and is endorsed by the Hallam Catholic Diocese.
This scheme includes scripture, doctrine and liturgy as well as spiritual and moral development, within the traditions of the Catholic Church, but with the chance to study other world faiths.
At St Ann’s we like the religious ethos of the school to permeate the whole of the curriculum and the life of the school, rather than being just an academic subject.
The Wednesday Word
Every week on a Wednesday your child will receive ‘The Wednesday Word’ leaflet, an opportunity for you to share Sunday’s Gospel with your family.
Here you will also find the website which links to The Wednesday Word page. This offers a variety of children’s activities and also further reading for adults.

Prayer is integral to life in St Ann’s School and is woven throughout the rhythm of each school day. It lies at the heart of our mission, nurturing children’s spiritual growth and helping them to develop a close, personal relationship with God. Pupils are given regular opportunities to pray both privately and together as a community, fostering moments of personal reflection as well as shared worship. Prayer takes many forms within our school, including quiet reflection, movement and dance, song, and traditional prayers, allowing every child to engage in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them. Through these varied experiences, prayer becomes a natural and living part of daily school life.
Catholic Life of the School
The Catholic Prayer and Liturgy Directory, To Love You More Dearly, helps schools, parishes, and families grow in faith through prayer and worship. It provides guidance on how children and young people can take part in daily prayer, celebrate the liturgical seasons, and share in the life of the Church. Rooted in the tradition of the Catholic faith, the directory encourages communities to pray together, deepen their relationship with God, and live out their faith in everyday life.
